Initial Road Placement Bug

I am red. After my initial settlement placement, the only option the map gave me to place my road was across the board. After I placed the road, the game got stuck. I was still able to chat with the other players.
I wish I could have played. I would have loved to see if I could place a settlement where my lone road was.
