Android 1.6.0 (Pixel 2 XL) crashing on startup every time

After updating to 1.6.0, my game crashes after the initial loading screen as soon as I get to the main landing page. I briefly see the landing page but it crashes immediately. I'm on Android on the Google Pixel 2 XL and a phone restart didn't fix this. I can't get into any games now...

I have the same problem on my Kindle Fire 10 5th generation which is Android.
After this update, if I am off-line I am thrown back to my games folder. If I am on-line, I"m thrown back to the Amazon app store. I've deleted the game and reloaded it and the problem persists. I cannot begin a game since this update,
Before this update a similar problem would occur during games, but I could get back into the games and continue. I have been playing only with AI because I expect the game to stop abruptly and need to be restarted.
